Voxiom Custom Games & Dungeons - Mythic Weapons Guide
How Voxiom.io custom games work: the level-60 hosting rule, map size and biomes, dungeons below height 40 and the Mythic weapons only dungeons drop.
How do custom games work in Voxiom.io?
Custom Game lets a level-60 player host a private match with the game’s full procedural map toolkit: a 1312×128×1312-block world spanning the four standard biomes (grassland, desert, snow and ocean), with the host controlling the lobby. Joining is open to everyone — only creating a lobby requires level 60 — and the format shipped as an experimental feature in the v0.8 update of June 2022.
Two structural rules shape every custom session:
- No experience is awarded. Custom matches are for content, not progression — your level and VoxGems grind happens in the standard queues covered in game modes explained.
- Empty lobbies die after ten minutes. If everyone leaves, the server shuts down on a 10-minute timer, so advertise your lobby where players are looking.
Why do dungeons matter?
Because dungeons are the only source of Mythic weapons. Weapon rarity in the game runs Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary, and the community wiki documents a sixth tier — Mythic — that drops exclusively in dungeon loot. Every other acquisition path, from match crafting to crates, caps out at Legendary.
Dungeon generation is tied to map depth: structures spawn below height 40 (y < 40) on custom maps. That makes the descent a mini-progression of its own — dig or tunnel down, light your path, and expect the loot room to be guarded the hard way.
What else can custom maps generate?
The world generator places structures by biome, and the wiki’s structure list includes temples, pyramids, villages and the dungeons above. For hosts, three parameters matter most:
| Setting | Rule | Practical effect |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting level | 60+ to create | Joining has no level gate |
| Map size | 1312×128×1312, 4 biomes | Full-scale exploration, not arena fights |
| Dungeon depth | Below y = 40 | Mining progression gates Mythic access |
| Idle timer | 10 min empty = shutdown | Keep your lobby populated |
Hosts also get lobby commands (such as /delay and /hurry) to pace the match, which is why custom lobbies double as the community’s event format — race servers, build showcases and dungeon-run streams all run on this layer.
How do you prepare for a dungeon run?
Treat it like a raid, not a match:
- Upgrade to Legendary first. The sniper and shotgun breakpoints matter double underground, where engagements happen at shovel range.
- Carry building blocks. Staircasing down is safer than digging straight into an unknown room.
- Split roles if you have a squad. One miner, one guard, one carrier keeps the run moving when the spawn gets hostile.
- Set an extraction plan. The ten-minute empty-lobby rule and the depth both punish indecision — know your way back up before you go down.
Can you get Mythic weapons outside custom games?
No dungeon access means no Mythic drops — regular modes generate surface-scale maps where the documented loot ceiling is Legendary. Mythic hunting is the one thing that genuinely requires the custom-game layer.
Do custom games count toward the VoxGems grind?
No. Custom matches award no experience and no gems. Use them for their actual strengths: dungeon loot, hosted events and practice.
