How do you start playing Voxiom.io as a complete beginner?

Open the game in your browser, pick a nickname and join Battle Royale for a gentle start or Capture the Gems for structured team fights. You spawn with nothing but a shovel, so your first job in every match is the same: dig, loot and craft until you hold a real gun. Everything else builds on that loop.

Voxiom.io is a free browser game — no download, no install. It runs on desktop and mobile browsers, and it is also listed on CrazyGames, which hosts the same HTML5 build. Spend two minutes in a quiet corner of your first match pressing each key once. Crouching (C) tightens your aim, and Q toggles build mode — the habit of throwing down a wooden wall mid-fight is what separates new players from fed players.

What should you do in your first Battle Royale?

Battle Royale seats you in a four-person lobby with a 90-second countdown before the drop, then scatters everyone over a procedurally generated island. A shrinking Toxic Fog closes the map over time, and the last player standing wins.

1. Land near trees and rocks, not near enemies. Your shovel breaks blocks; wood and stone are your first crafting materials.
2. Mine any ore you see. Emerald, ruby, sapphire, iron and sulfur ore drop the gems and materials that fuel crafting — ore blocks are the economy of every match.
3. Craft a Work Station (30 wood) as soon as you can. It unlocks the real crafting recipes, including weapon upgrades and med kits.
4. Upgrade one weapon rarity tier at a time. Weapon upgrades chain Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary, each step costing iron and emeralds.
5. Keep the fog in mind. Rot early rather than sprinting at the edge — the fog deals damage on a timer you cannot out-run forever.

What kills new players most often?

Fighting before looting. Every player spawns with the same melee shovel (15 damage to the head, 10 to the body at Common rarity), so an early duel is a coin flip you do not need to take. The second killer is ignoring the map: press M to see where you are relative to the fog circle. The third is standing still while mining — dig next to cover, because a mining player is the easiest headshot target in the game.

Which mode should you queue second?

After a few Battle Royale rounds, queue Capture the Gems (CTG). It is the mode regular players grind: two teams, a gem tower in the middle of the map, mine tunnels on each flank, and a Loadout Station at your base where you pick any primary and secondary weapon combination you have unlocked. What comes after the first hour?

Once matches feel comfortable, set three goals in order:

1. Reach level 15, which unlocks the player-to-player Market where skins and items trade hands.
2. Push one weapon to Legendary in CTG so you learn the upgrade economy for every weapon class at once.
3. Try a custom game at level 60 or join one — custom maps spawn dungeons below height 40, and dungeons are the only source of Mythic-rarity weapons (covered in our custom games guide).

Yes. The game runs free in the browser on the official site and on portals like CrazyGames. There is no download and no purchase to play; optional spending exists only around cosmetic skins through VoxGems.

You can queue matches with just a nickname. An account matters later for progression, skins and the market — but your first session needs nothing beyond a browser.
